Hi, I’m Kiera! I’ve been a Hampton Roads native for over 30 years and love everything this area has to offer. God has blessed my husband & I with 3 beautiful children, all of whom were born into his loving hands at home. We currently live in Gloucester and and cherish the calm & peaceful energy the area brings.
Together we homeschool our children on our mini educational homestead. We adore adventuring outdoors, camping at state parks, cooking, crafting and exploring new hobbies. We are forever students alongside our children & believe that living life fully and curiously is our most powerful curriculum as a family.
Fun facts:
*I have been skydiving 3 times
*My husband and I are scuba certified and I believe there is nothing more peaceful than being submerged into the underwater world.
*I am the only American citizen in my family. My parents & siblings are from England!
*I love matcha, dark chocolate and herbal teas.
I have supported over 180 families as a certified doula since 2016 and have been documenting births as a photographer since 2018. Walking alongside families as they bring life into the world is a calling from God that I take very seriously. The reverence I hold for the birthing journey is at the root of this work.
After my first home birth, I was left in awe of the profound power of the woman's body and the monumental role that mindset & support play in birth. My 3 birth journeys couldn’t have been more different- which speaks to the sovereign & unique nature of birth itself. Each experience re-birthed me & took me to the depths of myself in the most beautiful ways.
It’s my deepest intention as a doula to surround families in love, unbiased support & education as they move through the metaphorphasis that is birth. I believe pregnancy, birth and postpartum are powerful opportunities for self-growth and discovery- moments that teach us in ways few other life experiences can.
I want every family I support to feel nurtured, held, understood & informed. Meeting families exactly where they are, honoring their values, beliefs and perspectives and helping them navigate challenges as they arise is at the heart of what I do as a doula.
I am passionate about teaching nervous system regulation for birth, mental coping techniques, advocacy skills, comfort measures and the biodynamics of the pelvis to help achieve a satisfying and comforting birth experience. There is no wrong or right way to birth, as long as you feel supported, respected, loved and informed through the process!
